Maypole Crown Construction |
Maypole crown consists of 2 X 6 inch diameter, mdf board, disks
with 8 holes drilled, with bolts through, over which an eyelet in the end
of each ribbon is passed. The ribbons are therefore sandwiched and bolted
between the 2 disks.
The lower disk is screwed to a 5 inch length of
dowel and this slips into the top of the pipe.
This makes a more
stable arrangement than the original embroidery hoop and clamp (shown in
picture). A garland/crown/weather cock! etc. can be bolted on top of
this. |
