Teaching existing module

The bread and butter of our work! Tradamis regularly teaches the following modules to school groups (in order of popularity):

  • Maypole dancing

  • Tudor dance, music and song

  • Country dancing

  • Morris Dancing

  • Clog Dancing and percussive dance

  • Nelson’s Navy & the Regency Period

  • Life and Work in Victorian times

  • Mumming Plays

Would you be interested in teaching for us?     Contact Tradamis

Musicians

We hope that children learning to dance will always have the opportunity to dance to live music. We try to find musicians who have the appropriate instruments, and we help them to learn relevant traditional and historical material to play.

What instrument do you play?

Would you be interested in playing for our workshops?

Or could you teach a school music session?   Contact Tradamis

New modules and special projects

Can you see gaps in what we offer?  If you have an idea for a teaching module then we are happy to offer it as long as it sort of fits our brief of ‘traditional and historical dance, music and song’ and links to the curriculum in some way. Another route into getting involved is to help us develop new project ideas, like those we are currently working on with Hughenden Manor, HMS Victory and Wildern School.

Developing contacts, clients and generating work

Do you already work with school groups or know any teachers? Do you work in Creative Partnerships or with tourist centres and heritage bodies? Tradamis doesn’t only work in schools but also does outreach work in heritage centres and other locations. Why not ask your contacts if they’ve heard of Tradamis? We can send you publicity materials to hand out, and we can add their details to our email list.

Where do you go?   Who do you know?  Contact Tradamis

Volunteers & Friends

If you want to get involved but are not sure how; or if family or work commitments prevent you working with us on a regular basis – why not come along to an event and help out as a volunteer? At our bigger public events, such as at the Old Royal Naval College or the Geffrye Museum, we need people who can interact with the public, man stalls, dance round maypoles, guide children to activities…. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to find out more about what we do, meet the people who do it – and have fun!

If you don’t want to be actively involved, but like the idea of what we are doing – get in touch and ask to be added to our mailing list.
